I recently went on a tour of Google's office in New York and had the opportunity to meet some of their fine employees. One of the questions I brought up was about things that the current employees did to help them get where they are. One of the things I learned is that there are online coding competitions that are helpful in both practicing code and potentially getting noticed, if you're on that level of coding.
One example is Google Code Jam. So, what the heck, I think I'll sign up! And maybe you should too! After all, there's nothing to lose and we both might just learn a little something. :)
